At our school, students in grades K–8 learn in multiage classrooms where children of different ages, backgrounds, and skill levels grow and learn side by side. The result is a dynamic, inclusive learning community that nurtures intellectual growth, social confidence, independence, and a deeper love of learning.
We use multi-sensory and project-based learning to engage students in hands-on, meaningful experiences. While our teaching is creative and student-centered, we also ensure all learning aligns with state-standard curriculum—so students receive the education they need in a way that works best for them.
Our goal is to prepare students not just for tests—but for life.
At Building Connections Academy, we know that students learn best when they feel safe, understood, and supported. That’s why we create a nurturing, individualized environment where each child—especially those needing extra support—can grow academically, socially, and emotionally. When students feel truly seen and heard, they’re more engaged, confident, and ready to reach their full potential.
Our goal is to nurture not only academic achievement but also social skills, emotional resilience, and self-awareness in a supportive, inclusive environment.
We begin with comprehensive assessments to identify strengths, interests, and areas for growth to develop comprehensive and individualized IEP goals.
Progress is regularly monitored, and plans are adjusted as needed to ensure continued growth. We offer a wide range of support—including differentiated instruction, specialized programs, and assistive technologies—to help students succeed.
Once each quarter, families are invited to join us on campus for a day of connection and learning. Parents receive hands-on training focused on executive functioning, behavior strategies, and real-time support for challenges their children may be facing. After sharing lunch together, families visit classrooms to explore student-led exhibitions that showcase the creative projects and progress their children have made.

We are a K–8 nonpublic school (NPS) offering a specialized, supportive environment for every learner. We help students connect with academic content in meaningful, hands-on ways. With campuses in Concord and Martinez, we proudly serve students from across the Bay Area who are either placed privately, or through a district referral via the IEP process.
Building Connections Academy (BCA) provides a safe and welcoming place where all students are supported and encouraged to be themselves. One where neurodivergent learners grow by using creative teaching, personalized support, and fun, multi-sensory project-based activities. Our goal is to build confidence, teach important life skills, and create a caring community where every child can succeed and feel proud of who they are.
